For a while now, I’ve had this relentless idea to create a channel where I can teach and learn all sorts of new skills. It finally all came to fruition last night while I was talking with Tricia… Green Light Life.
Green Light Life (if that’s the name we decide to go with) will be a new YouTube channel branched off of Green Light Shooting. It will follow the same style and format of videos as GLS but with one major difference, the subject matter will be things that the everyday man might want to learn.
For instance, we’ll cover things in the “How To” category: how to weed your garden like a boss, how to keep your lawn looking like the best on the block, how to take awesome family photos regardless of your camera, how to increase your bench press, etc. We’ll also be breaking down things that might interest the everyday man. For instance, what are the most common types of beer? How can you tell them apart just by looks or by taste. What about cigars? What kinds are best for the beginning smoker? What about for the non-smoker who wants to celebrate something. Or just in general, what’s the best cigar you can get for under $20? Another idea might be steaks. What’s the best bang for your buck in steak? How to properly grill or pan sear a steak?
Something that I didn’t mention in the video is that I think I have a very good handle on male and female relationships. I understand what makes a good relationship work and how they tick. I attribute a lot of that to book I read a long time ago called “The Way of the Superior Man”. It’s an awesome book, by the way. Check it out if you’re curious. But because of this book and what I’ve learned on my own, almost all of my friends come to me for advice on relationships and just how to be a better man in general. I’d really like to pass some of that knowledge on in this.
I talked about Reddit in the video as well. Subreddits like Every Man Should Know and Life Pro Tips are awesome little tidbits of information. From time to time, I may share things from there as well. Of course, I’ll give full credit to whoever created it on Reddit but I think a lot of those ideas deserve to be shared. Sometimes they’re techy tips, sometimes they’re tips on how to tell a great scotch from an average one. They’re things that I find useful so hopefully you will too.
A lot of the ideas I mentioned earlier are things that I have no clue on how to do. But I think that’s half the fun. I’ll take on a project a week or something and it’ll give me an excuse to really dive into something new. I’ll do the research on it, I’ll figure what I need to make it happen, then I can document the whole journey. This way, you guys can learn along with me. And if it’s a big project that takes multiple weeks, I’ll just keep you guys updated on it weekly or whatever and if it’s something you know a lot about, you can give me pointers in the comments.
That’s really where I think this idea can shine. It takes Green Light from just being a small scale YouTube channel to becoming a community. It turns it into a place where we’re all constantly learning from each other and striving to better ourselves and better those around us.
So anyway, if this sounds like and idea you’d be into, please support it. I’ll be starting up the channel soon and advertising it here and on my main GLS channel. Liking, sharing, and subscribing will help me out more than I can say.
Thanks so much for all the support along the way. None of this would even be a possibility without you. So let’s learn together and make something great out of this little Green Light Life.
