Media Consent & Release

Effective Date: August 1, 2026

MEDIA CONSENT AND RELEASE

Green Light Shooting values the privacy of every athlete and family. Because our coaching involves video analysis and online communication, athletes and families may submit photographs, videos, audio recordings, testimonials, and other media as part of their participation.

Green Light Shooting will not use an athlete’s media publicly or promotionally without permission.

Granting permission is completely optional and is not required to participate in any Green Light Shooting program. Declining permission will not affect an athlete’s eligibility, coaching, services, pricing, or participation.

Media Covered by This Release

If permission is granted below, the athlete or the athlete’s parent or legal guardian authorizes Green Light Shooting, including its owners, employees, contractors, representatives, and service providers acting on its behalf, to use media voluntarily submitted to or created in connection with the athlete’s participation in Green Light Shooting.

This media may include:

  • Photographs and video recordings

  • Audio recordings

  • Training and shooting footage

  • Before-and-after or side-by-side comparisons

  • Portions of coaching feedback or video analysis

  • Written, audio, or video testimonials

  • Statements describing the athlete’s or family’s experience with Green Light Shooting

Permitted Uses

If permission is granted, Green Light Shooting may reproduce, edit, crop, caption, combine, adapt, publish, display, distribute, and otherwise use the authorized media for legitimate educational, informational, advertising, and promotional purposes.

Authorized uses may include:

  • Green Light Shooting websites and landing pages

  • Green Light Shooting social media accounts

  • Educational and coaching demonstrations

  • Email communications

  • Digital and printed marketing materials

  • Presentations

  • Advertisements and promotional campaigns

This permission applies to current and future media formats and distribution channels.

Green Light Shooting may use excerpts or edited versions of authorized media, provided that the use does not materially misrepresent the athlete, the athlete’s development, or the athlete’s or family’s experience with Green Light Shooting.

Privacy Protections

Green Light Shooting will not publicly identify a minor athlete by full name without obtaining separate permission.

Unless separately authorized, Green Light Shooting will not publicly disclose a minor athlete’s:

  • Last name

  • Home address

  • Personal telephone number

  • Personal email address

  • School location

  • Team schedule

  • Real-time location

  • Private coaching records

  • Unrelated personal information

When identifying an athlete is appropriate and permission has been granted, Green Light Shooting may use the athlete’s first name, general age or grade level, and general basketball experience only in accordance with the identification preference selected below.

Green Light Shooting will not sell an athlete’s or family’s personal information.

Authorized media may appear on third-party services and platforms, including social media, video-hosting, email, website, and advertising platforms. These third parties operate under their own terms, policies, and privacy practices.

Editing and Final Approval

If permission is granted, the athlete and parent or legal guardian understand and agree that:

  • Green Light Shooting may make reasonable edits to authorized media, including cropping, shortening, captioning, formatting, or combining it with other material.

  • Green Light Shooting is not required to use any submitted or recorded media.

  • No payment, royalty, or other compensation will be owed for an authorized use.

  • The athlete or parent or legal guardian will not have the right to inspect or approve every individual edit, caption, publication, or final use, provided that the use remains consistent with this Media Consent and Release.

  • Granting permission does not guarantee that Green Light Shooting will feature or promote the athlete.

Release of Claims

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the athlete and the athlete’s parent or legal guardian release Green Light Shooting and those acting on its behalf from claims arising directly from an authorized use of the media, including claims involving the use of the athlete’s image, voice, name, statements, or likeness; rights of publicity; or invasion of privacy.

This release does not authorize Green Light Shooting to make materially misleading, defamatory, unlawful, or otherwise unauthorized use of the media. It also does not waive any rights or claims that cannot legally be waived.

If Permission Is Declined

If permission is declined, Green Light Shooting will not knowingly use the athlete’s submitted media for public, advertising, or promotional purposes.

Media submitted for coaching may still be used privately as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide coaching, video analysis, and athlete feedback

  • Communicate with the athlete and the athlete’s parent or legal guardian

  • Administer the athlete’s Green Light Shooting services

  • Maintain appropriate business and coaching records

  • Protect the security and integrity of Green Light Shooting’s services

  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

Declining permission for public or promotional use does not prevent Green Light Shooting from privately processing submitted media for these coaching, administrative, security, and legal purposes.

Changing or Withdrawing Permission

Media permission may be changed or withdrawn at any time by sending a written request to [INSERT GREEN LIGHT SHOOTING EMAIL ADDRESS].

A withdrawal of permission will apply to future uses after Green Light Shooting has received and had a reasonable opportunity to process the request.

Following receipt of a withdrawal request, Green Light Shooting will make reasonable efforts to:

  • Discontinue new public or promotional uses of the athlete’s media

  • Remove the media from websites, social media accounts, and other platforms under Green Light Shooting’s direct control

  • Avoid including the media in new marketing, advertising, or promotional materials

Withdrawal cannot always reverse uses that occurred before the request was received. Green Light Shooting may be unable to recall or remove:

  • Printed materials already produced or distributed

  • Emails or communications already sent

  • Advertisements or campaigns already published

  • Content independently downloaded, shared, reposted, or stored by third parties

  • Media incorporated into previously completed productions or materials

Green Light Shooting may retain private archival copies when reasonably necessary for business records, legal compliance, security, or the establishment or defense of legal claims. Retained archival media will not knowingly be republished in new public or promotional materials after permission has been withdrawn.
